Applies to the a:Drake app for Android and Wear OS (cz.adrake), version 6.15 and newer. Last updated: 12 October 2026.
a:Drake is an application for personal use running on your device. The authors of the app do not collect any personal data from you – a:Drake has no server of its own and contains no ads, analytics or tracking.
The cache database, logs and drafts, tracks, images, maps and settings are stored only on the device (in the app's data folder or in folders you choose). Uninstalling the app deletes the data in its private folder.
Sign-in uses OAuth directly on the geocaching.com website; a:Drake never sees your password. The access token is stored only on the device and is used to communicate with the Geocaching API (downloading caches and logs, sending logs, drafts, images and trackable logs). This data is transferred directly between your device and geocaching.com and is subject to the Geocaching HQ privacy policy. Any customer information acquired through the API is held in confidence in accordance with this policy. You can revoke access at any time in your geocaching.com account settings (authorized applications) or by uninstalling the app.
Location (GPS) is used for navigation to the cache, compass, map, nearby search and track recording. During navigation or track recording a foreground service runs with a visible notification. Location is not sent anywhere, except:
The camera permission is used only to take a photo for a log (in the cache gallery) and to turn on the flashlight. Photos stay on the device; only the photos you attach to a log or draft are uploaded to geocaching.com.
When you send navigation to the watch, the phone passes the target data (cache code and name, coordinates, hint) and alert settings to the watch via Wear OS (Google Play services) between your paired devices. The watch app uses the watch GPS only during navigation and sends nothing else.
Synchronization with GeoGet runs only in the local Wi-Fi network and only while the sync screen is open.
Google Play versions contain no crash reporting library. Google may provide developers with anonymous crash statistics (Android Vitals) if you enabled it in your device settings. Test versions from the forum (cz.adrake.dev) allow sending a crash report by e-mail – always only after your confirmation.
The authors of the app do not obtain, sell or share any of your data with third parties.
